if it’s on the web, it’s real, people

The deed is done.

I am on etsy.

I have finally taken some of my favourite photographs – and my flickr peeps favourite photographs – and had them printed.  I then went into a scrapbooking store and bought stuff: card stock, a trimmer, photo friendly glue (it comes on a roller like the new-fangled white out!!) and a “bone folder”.  I really don’t know what I’m supposed to use the bone folder for, but it sounded impressive…  I put it all together and now I have note cards.

On etsy.

Honestly, the only reason I made them into note cards (which I like the idea of, anyway) is because etsy is about crafting something.  And, really, sending my files off to be printed doesn’t seem very … crafty.  Now, don’t get me wrong.  There is photography involved and much of my favourite photography means getting a little dirty, or at least looking like an ass trying to get the good angle and the good lighting.  There is cropping and editing and humming and hawing at the Photoshop stage.  It’s a process.  But it doesn’t fit my notion of crafting.  But, card stock and a little glue does.

I’ve even been back to the scrapbooking store.  I have a stamp card there.  If I think about that too much, it really, really scares me.

So, now I’m on etsy.  And I have a website.  And I’m still figuring a bunch of this stuff out.  Product shots, shipping costs and profound descriptions are all a little new and subject to adjustments as time goes on, but it’s all a work in progress.

I have a grand total of seven items up at the moment, but have more just waiting to be uploaded.  So, go look!  And then check back in a few more days to see more items!!
