I didn’t listen to daddy today, but I didn’t get a consequence.

And then bedtime was an epic battle of pushing every limit with every excuse known to man and several that were completely made up on the fly.

So when the consequence finally came down?  Epic reaction.

And then she fell asleep within two minutes.

Now that the Magpie knows what consequences are and that they follow not-listening, she’s freaking watching us to see if we actually hand out consequences.  We’re being purposely tested.

Played.

By a kid who is not even four.

We are entirely screwed.

  1. I had that the other evening. Kids pushing every button right up until the moment I got them into bed – then asleep by half a page of story…
