Reframe the Give

Okay, let me begin by stating that I am not a fan of the word “reframe”. But I am a fan on the concept, so I have to work with what I’ve got.

Let me also state that I’m a fan of a good sale. Qualifying word: good. I’m less of a fan of contrived, overly-marketed buying sprees with little “sale” and much hysteria.

Sure, some of the items purchased during this weekend’s Black Friday events will be presents for others. But. What if the money that’s going to be spent anyway went to a charity instead of to stuff? If gifts changed from purchases into donations on behalf of the people on your Christmas list?

Enter CanadaHelps “Giving Tuesday” on December 3. What if we followed a little spending with supporting?

If you’re looking for a place to start, I’ve posted a few family favourites for your consideration. It’s a place to start. Have a search around. Find your faves. And share a little love.
